Leah Giles captures Knox County area cross country title

Leah Giles is following in her big sister’s footsteps – while getting great advice from mom.
Leah, a sixth-grade cross country runner from Christian Academy of Knoxville, captured the girls individual championship during the Knox County are Middle School Champion-ship Meet last week at Victor Ashe Park.
Leah, 11, covered the 2-mile course in 12:02.71.
Running competitively since she was 8 years-old, Leah has a talented role model sibling.
Older sister Anna, a 2003 CAK high school graduate, won the Class A-AA state championship in the 1-mile and 2-mile races last spring in Memphis.
According to Leah, they both share a love for running, but “Anna loves the track and I love the grass.”
Leah’s mother, Cindy Giles, has also provides support as CAK Middle School cross country coach.
Leah completed the cross-country season undefeated before winning the city championship.
