If Ads and ’Dawgs win out, playoffs next
Farragut must beat region foe Soddy Daisy ; Bearden must whip Sevier County Friday
Staff Reports - Thu, Oct, 23, 2003
Here are the to-do lists for Farragut and Bearden to make the playoffs in Class 5A.
Here’s Farragut’s to-do list for making the TSSAA Class 5A football playoffs as either the third or fourth-seed in Region 2-5A.
• If the Admirals beat Soddy Daisy Friday and Ooltewah Oct. 31—both at FHS—Farragut will end as the third seed with a 4-3 region record.
• If the Admirals beat Soddy Daisy but lose to Ooltewah, they would still make the playoffs if Oak Ridge and McMinn each win their final two games.
• If FHS loses to Soddy Daisy then beats Ooltewah, Bradley Central and William Blount would each have to lose once.
Here’s Bearden’s to-do list for making the TSSAA Class 5A football playoffs as the fourth-seed:
• By winning their final two Region 1-5A games—at home versus Sevier Co. Friday and at Jefferson Co. Oct. 31, the ’Dawgs would be fourth unless Campbell County wins its last two—at Dobyns-Bennett and home vs Karns. Don’t bet on another letdown by powerful KDB.
• A win versus Sevier County and a loss to Jefferson County would still be good enough if Karns and Campbell County lose Friday—as expected—and Karns beats the Cougars Oct. 31.
