Lottery sales begin Tuesday

George Russell, manager of the Conoco/Pilot convenience store on Kingston Pike in Lovell Heights, demonstrates how the lottery scratch-off ticket machine operates. Lottery tickets will go on sale statewide Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at a dollar a chance. The top prize will be $1 million, Russell said. Prizes of $50 or less may be redeemed at the point of purchase. Prizes above $50 and up to $25,000 will be awarded at the Knoxville Tennessee Lottery Regional Office in the Cedar Springs Shopping Center. Prizes above $25,000 require a trip to Nashville to collect.
