Win streak reached four for FMS girls

The Farragut Middle School girls were red-hot as of Monday.

Becky Reno’s Lady Admirals won its fourth consecutive game Monday at FMS with a commanding 39-21 victory against Halls.

“We’ve been working very hard,” Reno said, as her team’s record improved to 6-4 as of Monday. “I start three seventh-graders, we’re very inexperience. But the more experience they’ve gotten I think the better we are.”

Individually, “Keri Meade, she is just tremendous defensively and offensively,” Reno said of her eighth-grade post. “She’s somebody that just goes after it a hundred percent all the time.”

As for seventh-grade guard Stephanie Torrence, who has led the team in scoring during each of the four straight wins, “she’s an awesome basketball player,” Reno said. “Very athletic.”

Torrence led the winners Monday with 13 points, followed by Meade with 11. Amanda Isbell scored seven, followed by Brittany Doss, Jennifer Rutherford, Erin Scourby and Taryn Truett with two points each.
