Letter to the Editor
Reader questions Hornback ad

Editor:

I am concerned about the political ad in your paper for Brian Hornback, which indicated that he is being endorsed by five members of the county commission, one of whom is the county mayor’s chief of staff. My first thought was, what has he given up to get them to endorse him? Then I began to wonder if he is going to be the commission’s “puppet” on the school board. How can he be an independent voice on the school board if he is obligated to these commissioners and what kind of cooperation will there be between the commission and the school board when Mr. Hornback loses? Will the commissioners work with Mrs. Carson, or (are) they more interested in control than cooperation?

I want a truly independent voice on the school board. I want a person who will work for the benefit of all the people, not someone who “owes” a few. I want Karen Carson!

Sincerely,

Suzanne Rose
