At the Farragut Municipal Planning Commission meeting last week Mark Shipley, community development coordinator for the town, said developers are showing a lot of interest in the town’s new open space residential overlay district. The new district allows for smaller lots and developer flexibility. How will this effect the town? Will having more houses on a piece of property lead to more overcrowding in the Farragut schools? Will it have benefits, such as increasing the town’s sales tax dollars?
