- Preston Flanders/farragutpress
An early-morning fire at a home belonging to Richard and Alicia Boyd, located at 9312 Lawhorn Lane, in Mourfield Estates off Bluegrass Drive in West Knox County, was damaged by a fire that allegedly began in the garage. The first engine company arrived at the 9:56 a.m. fire at 10:03 a.m. and reported that the two-story house had fire in the garage and that the fire was moving into the attic space and second story. A total of six fire apparatus arrived on the scene in response, as well as a division chief and ambulance. The fire was knocked down quickly, Rural/Metro spokesman Matt Haralson said. No injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
