Thompson gets leasing certification

R. Keith Thompson, Phoenix Theatres, LLC, Knoxville, has earned the professional accreditation of certified leasing specialist from the International Council of Shopping Centers.

ICSC grants CLS accreditation to those individuals who have at least four years of relevant professional experience and who have passed a day-long written examination. Currently, there are 542 shopping center professionals who have earned the CLS accreditation since it was first established in 1994.

Kaschak gets new role at BB&T

BB&T has named Katie Kaschak as a business services officer. Kaschak, who joined the bank last year, is based at 5101 Cleveland St.

The Knoxville native earned a bachelorís degree in finance from Indiana University, where she made the Deanís List, and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Order of Omega Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma National Universities Honor Society.

Kaschak is also a graduate of BB&Tís Management Development Program, a six-month comprehensive management-training program.

Kaschak is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity and the American Diabetes Association, where she has served as a speaker and organizer of fund-raising walks. She is also a recent past volunteer for the Childrenís Home Society of North Carolina.

Kaschak resides in Norfolk, Va. She is the daughter of Dan and Diane Kaschak of Farragut.
