FBMA to propose resolution to keep students in Farragut

The Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen will consider a resolution to support “Keep Farragut Residents in Farragut Schools” at its April 22 meeting.

The resolution comes a week after parents, teachers and students met at Karns High School to discuss the possibility of Knox County Schools redrawing district lines, moving some prospective FHS students to KHS. The idea is one being discussed to relieve overcrowding at FHS.

The town of Farragut’s Community Facilities Plan will also be discussed.

Other items on the agenda:

• The second reading of a rezoning request of 15.2 acres, 600 McFee Road, approximately 750 feet north of Allen Kirby Road, from R-2 to R-1, OSR. Gables & Gates Realtors/Housewright, LLC are the applicants.

• The first reading of an ordinance to accept Anchorage Way, a private street located within Turkey Creek Harbor subdivision, Phase I-IV, as a public road.

• Consideration of a resolution to support a LPRF Grant for Campbell Station Park trails.

• Consideration of a residential access variance at 720 Fretz Road, requested by Barbara Shagan.
