FHS boys soccer JVs end unbeaten
Staff Reports - Thu, May, 27, 2004
Coach Derek Wright led his Farragut’s junior varsity boys soccer team to an unbeaten season in 2004.
Closing out with a 6-0-3 record, the FHS JVs recorded five shutouts. Farragut’s opponents made 65 shots on goal, but freshman JV keeper Adam Greene only gave up eight goals.
As a team, the Admirals scored 28 goals in the season and were led by freshman forward Jake Russell with 8 goals. He was the only player to score a “hat trick,” coming against archrival Bearden in a 3-2 FHS win.
Ten other JV players also scored goals, and six of them scored two or more goals. Junior Andrew Keminski and freshman Tyler Swift led the assists with three each, while five others had multiple assists.
Of the 17 players on the team, 14 of them are freshmen. Eight of the players are on the same competitive soccer team, the Diadora Impact U15 boys team.
