- Thu, May, 27, 2004
The Regal Foundation, a non-profit charity established by Regal Entertainment Group, has named 12 Knox County High School students to be the first class of Regal Scholars.
These students have been recognized for their academic achievement with a scholarship grant of $2,500 from the Regal Foundation.
Recipients were selected based on school administration criteria after submitting an essay on how a movie influenced his or her life.
Recipients were honored at a recent luncheon at Club LeConte.
Local students who received the scholarship were Mark Thurman of Farragut High School and Maureen Stanley of Bearden High School.
