Disqualification drops BHS track girls to 6th in state
Judy Johnson paces Bearden effort with four top-4 finishes; Lady Ads take third in 4 X 800

Memphis — Stung by a disqualification in the 4 X 800 relay, the Bearden Lady Bulldogs nevertheless earned a sixth-place finish during Thursday’s Class AAA state championship meet at Briarcrest Christian School.
Finishing with 30.50 points, the Lady Bulldogs were led by Judy Johnson with a third-place effort in the 100-meter run (12.59) and fourth-place finishes in the 200, 400, and triple-jump.
Caite Oyler was fourth in the high jump (5-feet-4), while BHS freshman Jenny Randolph took sixth in the 3,200 run (11:51.93). The Lady Bulldogs’ 4 X 200 team was seventh.
Meanwhile, the Farragut Lady Admirals finished 17yh (15) points, finishing third in the 4 X 800 (9:52.90) and sixth in the 4 X 400 (4.07.06).
Brentwood easily won the state meet with 114.50 points, well ahead of second-place Memphis East (59).
