The Knoxville Yard Dogs 14 & Under baseball team, left, were one of two Yard Dogs teams with a high finish at a national event during the past two weeks.
The 14U Yard Dogs finished fourth at the IBC World Series in Clearwater, Fla., July 10-17. With three players from Farragut — Ty Canan, Andrew Martland and Shane Glarrow — and Taylor Gouffon from Bearden, the Yard Dogs compiled a season record of 42-10 and finished either first or second in every tournament they competed during 2004. Meanwhile, the 13U Yard Dogs finished second in the AAU national tournament among a 20-team field from six states held in Farragut and West Knoxville July 19-23.
