•FMS/PTSA membership drive extended

The Farragut Middle School PTSA membership drive has been extended until Monday, Sept. 20. Members of the FMS/PTSA will have a chance to win a “Dinner for Two” donated by Randy Burleson for either Aubrey’s, Sunspot or Edison Park Steakhouse and a chance to win a handmade glass and silver beaded bracelet. Members also receive a coupon for a free Aubrey’s dessert. Membership money is used by the PTSA to support valuable programs for the students. •FMS Back to School Blues tonight

Farragut Middle School is asking families and friends of middle school students to attend its “Back to School Blues Night.” The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16. Cost is $8 per person. The menu will consist of Buddy’s BBQ and two blues bands will provide entertainment. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

•Coupon book sales begin Sept. 23

Knox County students will begin selling the coupon books on Thursday, Sept. 23. The books are filled with coupons for area businesses. The cost remains $10.

•FHS sells Centennial blankets

The Farragut High School science department will celebrate a century of excellence by selling centennial knit blankets for $45 and lighter weight fleece blankets for $25. The money will go toward purchasing computer equipment for the science department. For more information, call Jane Skinner at 671-7130.

•FIS in need of Basic Aid Training teacher

Farragut Intermediate School is in need of fourth grade parents to teach Basic Aid Training to their child’s class this year. This will involve taking a one-day training class at the Red Cross and then leading six classes. Please contact the BAT coordinator Teresa Icenhour at 966-9395.
