Soccer club venture set

• The Knoxville Football Club and the Soccer Club of Oak Ridge have announced a joint venture for this October. The soccer tournament, formerly known as SCOR-IT, has been renamed the “Columbus Day Invitational” and will take place Oct. 9 and 10, at four separate venues in West Knoxville and Oak Ridge. The Knoxville Football Club and the Soccer Club of Oak Ridge, two local competitive soccer clubs, will jointly host this event. FHS golf tourney Sept. 24

• The annual Farragut High School Baseball Benefit Golf Tournament is Sept. 24 at Willow Creek Golf Club. Cost is $85 per person and includes lunch, range balls and golf cart.
