•FPS to host Fall Festival
The Farragut Primary School PTA will host its 12th annual Fall Festival from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, and from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. The theme for this year’s celebration will be “Bushels of Fun.” Friday will be a night of all-out bidding, as they will have a silent auction and gift basket auction. Saturday will be family fun day with crafts, games and food. The Fall Festival is the largest fund-raiser that FPS conducts. All money raised will support PTA programs and services including, cultural arts programs, the foreign language program, clinic needs, playground improvements, the outdoor classroom, library needs mini-grants for the teachers and educational needs of the staff and administration.

nursing scholarship
Kara Lucas, a senior nursing student at Tennessee Wesleyan College-Fort Sanders Nursing in Knoxville, is the recipient of a Promise for Nursing for Tennessee scholarship for $5,000. Funding for the program was contributed by hospitals and health care agencies of Tennessee during a gala sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Kara is a graduate of Morristown-Hamblen West High School and will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in May 2005. She is the daughter of Wayne and Sharon Lucas.
