FHS football games

Farragut High School football has found a new radio home in 2004. With Dennis Rowland’s play-by-play, Eric Patterson’s color commentary and spotter Tony Rose, Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s radio station, WUPC, 106.1 FM, began broadcasting FHS home football games in mid-season. Station engineer Mike Gibbons said WUPC hopes to follow the Admirals for its remaining road games. Station manager is Dave Garner.

• Eight CBFO grid teams in Knox Youth playoffs

Eight CBFO football teams began their quest to capture their respective division and age group championships this week during Knox Metro Youth Football League playoff action. The XFL’s unbeaten CBFO Hoppers have earned a spot in the title game with a 8-0-1 record. With an unbeaten 7-0-1 record, the CBFO XFL Cutters have also earned a title game showdown. The CBFO Supermidgets have secured a playoff berth while finding themselves tied with Central at 6-1. Other CBFO playoff teams still alive at press time are the AFC Midgets (5-1-1), AFC Jr. Midgets (4-3) and XFL Pee Wees (5-2). The AFC Cutters (3-3-2) and the AFC Minor Pee Wees (3-5) have been eliminated.
