Water workshops Myers’ Park Bridge subdivision at FMPC

The Farragut Municipal Planning Commission returned to workshop further discussion of a preliminary plat for Park Bridge subdivision submitted by Myers Brothers Holdings, LLC, at its regularly scheduled meeting Oct. 21.

Myers Brothers Holdings, LLC owners Knick and Noah Myers agreed to return the matter to the next FMPC workshop at the FMPC meeting Nov. 4 following a consultation with town engineer Darryl Smith on the Park Bridge site Oct. 22.

The matter of concern focuses on the water runoff from Old Stage Hills onto the Park Bridge site and the effect on existing residences along Hobbs Road.

The Myers told residents present at the meeting that plans for the new subdivision should reduce the amount of water runoff to those Hobbs Road properties.

“Whatever water you have now,” Knick Myers said to the residents about the water flow, “you’ll have less water.”

Noah Myers added, that while the town and the Myers realize there is a problem with water flow now, “while we have the equipment there we have the opportunity to fix it.”

In other business the Commission voted:

• To approve (7-0) a resubdivision request by Jerrye M. Troutman of Parcels 22 & 23, Tax Map 143, 11504 Turkey Creek Road, Zoned R-1, 1.17 Acres, to move an interior property line.

• To postpone (7-0) a preliminary plat submitted by Benchmark Associates, Inc. and Fulghum, MacIndoe & Associates, Inc. for Chapel Glen, located on the west side of Fretz Road just north of Lanesborough Apartments, Parcels 4, 5 & 6, Tax Map 142, Zoned R-3 and OS-P, 56 Lots, approximately 22 acres.

• To approve (7-0) a preliminary plat submitted by Placemakers, LLC for the McFee Subdivision - Unit 1, part of the McFee Farm on McFee Road, 121 Lots, Zoned R-1 and OSR.

• To approve (6-1, Carol Evans opposed) a request by Ron Watkins to amend the previously approved site plan for Parkside Plaza, to change the date by which construction must start on Lot 4D-R from Oct. 16, 2004, to Oct. 18, 2005, which triggers the tree re-planting requirement of the clear cut area.

• To approve (7-0) grant applications for sidewalk construction on the north side of Smith Road between Grigsby Chapel Road and Andover Boulevard and on the south side of Old Stage Road between Lawton Boulevard and the Wentworth walking trail.

• To approve (7-0) a resubdivision request by Michael Brady, Inc. of Parcel 1.07, Tax Map 143HA, 11128 Kingston Pike, located between Concord Produce and Hollywood Video, Zoned C-1, 4 acres.

In the Workshop the Commission:

• Agreed to hold a public hearing at the next Commission meeting Nov. 4 on a site plan for the Renaissance Farragut submitted by Cannon & Cannon, Inc., Parcels 60, 63, 63.02, 63.05, 63.06 and part of 89, Tax Map 151, located on the south side of Kingston Pike west of Way Station Trail, Zoned C-1 and O-1, 20.971 acres.
