Poole wins essay contest

Farragut High School senior Leigh Ann Poole has won the state’s financial literacy essay contest, earning a $1500 U.S. savings bond. The topic of the essay was “My Money Management Plan.”
The statewide contest is the first of its kind sponsored by the Securities Division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. The contest was designed to get high school students thinking about their own financial goals and planning.
Poole’s essay detailed her plan for credit card use. The award presentation was made Friday, Oct. 29, at FHS. Pictured is State Senator Tim Burchett as he presents the award to Poole in the school’s auditorium.
