More than 900 runners and walkers of all ages participated in the Second Annual Baptist Turkey Trot Race to Beat Heart Disease 5K run, One Mile Fun Walk and Little Gobbler Run Saturday, Nov. 20, at Baptist Hospital West and Parkside Drive.
Among the few dozen winners and top 5K finishers were four Farragut awardees. Devin MacDonald, 10, won the 5-to-10 boys age group (23:46); (Pictured) Faye Eisenacher, 79, was champion in the 70-to-79 women’s age group (35:39). Eric Nicholls, 60, was Male Veterans Overall champ (22:18). Joseph Piscitello, 60, finished third in the 60-to-69 age group (27:03). Bearden High School’s race connection included Steve Prince, 47 (BHS track and cross country head coach), champ in the male 40-to-49 age group, (20:04) and 16-year-old Andrew Shankles, 15-to-19 champ (16:56).
