Smith Road Walgreen's robbed
Thief makes off with Oxycontin, Soma

Knox County Sheriff's deputies reponded to a robbery at the Walgreen's pharmacy at the corner of Smith Road and Kingston Pike at about 11:30 this morning. On arrival, officers in the Major Crimes Division were told that a male had entered the store, picked up a shopping basket and made his way to the back of the store.

KCSD spokesperson Martha Dooley said the suspect, who was dressed in blue jeans, a black jacket, a black baseball cap and sunglasses, put his hand in his jacket pocket and demanded the pharmacy worker give him Oxycontin and Soma, both painkillers.

Dooley added that the workers complied and the suspect left. A store employee chased after the suspect and witnessed him getting into an olive-colored Ford Expedition, which had its license plates removed, and flee.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-feet-8 and 160 to 170 pounds.

The suspect is still at large.
