presstalk 671-TALK

• And my next question is, what does it mean, “Elvis is coming?” I can’t stand it; the curiosity’s got me.

Editor’s Note: If you haven’t already done so, see page 1 and page 18 of this week's paper.

• It’s a sad day in Farragut, as the bulldozers have begun destroying one of the last great pieces of greenspace left in this town. I’m talking about the destruction and/or, what you would call development, of the McFee Farm. What a sad sight indeed to see all those beautiful trees and green grass spaces go the way of the bulldozer.

• I have been delighted with the post office this season. My packages and cards have been arriving at their out-of-state destinations in record time. The automated postal center is a huge time-saver, and you can use it any hour of the day. It’s been a great job by the USPS this season.

• I’d like to call and say, “thank you very much” to the developers of Turkey Creek. They have been very helpful and cooperative and wonderful in speaking to the homeowners and doing everything they possibly can to help out the homeowners … And I’d also like to wish … a happy, healthy 2005 to everyone.

• The Farragut postal employees have always been very helpful to me when I’ve mailed packages here and oversees. And also, I think UPS is a very good service too.

• I support Diane Jablonski, and I feel your paper should not have printed the Dec. 23 presstalk about Diane and her family. … Those were allegations from an anonymous source. I think your paper made a mistake when it printed this piece.

• I never see any articles on the Farragut High School Rifle Team. Do they still have a team? If yes, an article occasionally would be nice.

•Editorial freedom is a wonderful concept, but it does come with its responsibilities. With that in mind, the farragutpress has developed policies that will be followed regarding the publication of presstalk comments:

• Libelous comments will not be published.

• Malicious comments will not be published.

• Comments will remain anonymous.

• Recorded comments will be limited to 30 seconds.

• Names of individuals or businesses mentioned in the call will not be published (public figures and officials excluded).

• The farragutpress reserves the right not to publish any comment for any reason.

• Because of space limitations, not every comment will be published. Also, portions of the 30-second message may be omitted, but the basic message of the call will remain intact.

• Vulgar language will not be printed.

That’s it. The forum is open for comments regarding anything you have on your mind — local politics, world affairs, sports, religion, community affairs, city-county unification or anything else.
