Googe headed to Ivy League

Webb School senior Elizabeth Googe has committed to play tennis as a student/athlete at Cornell University, signing National Letter of Intent papers with the Ivy League school Wednesday, Jan. 5, in the Webb Athletic Center.
Googe, a National Merit semifinalist and state finalist for Wendy’s High School Heisman award, helped Webb win consecutive state titles (2003 and 2004). And alongside teammate Berkeley Brock, Googe won her third straight Division II state doubles title last spring — tying the state record for tennis titles. She is a five-time All-state honoree.
