94 Lady Impact win U-11 Gold Division


The 94 Lady Impact soccer team, coached by Lynn Schneider, won the U11 Girls Gold Division of the prestigious Red Diamond Vulcan Cup in Birmingham, Ala., with a 1-0 title-game shutout of the Atlanta United Spirit. The lone goal came with two minutes remaining on a cross by Paige Hoffman (home-schooled) that Rebecca Stover (A.L. Lotts Elementary) volleyed into the net. The Impact had previously beaten the Southwestern Indiana Blasters 2-0, the Brentwood Blast 2-0, and the Chattanooga Assault 2-1 in a shootout, as goalkeeper Allie Kington (Cedar Bluff Elementary) made two stops and added a goal of her own.
