As rumor would have it, the word on the street is that farragutpress is biased in its coverage of the town of Farragut Municipal Election April 5.
 |
It has been rumored that farragutpress has omitted presstalks for one candidate, duplicated presstalks for the other candidate and purposely left out letters to the editor to in some way sway the election.
While on the subject of presstalk, some have called to comment that farragutpress doesn’t run the positive calls we receive.
First of all, unless the presstalk is malicious or makes absolutely no sense, then it will appear in presstalk. We make no guarantee that it will run the week it’s called in — that is subject to available space.
Secondly, we do not and will not publish our editorial page in the sophomoric and juvenile manner that some have suggested. We have nothing to gain by operating in that manner.
Third, the selection of the governing body in Farragut is solely up to the voters. We are here to supply facts and let the candidates present their arguments as to why they should govern. We do not and will not endorse any political candidate.
Finally, if we received positive presstalks about the town, we would print them. The facts are we do not receive many positive remarks. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it.
