FHS choral success

Seven students from Ginny Herrick’s Farragut High School Choral Department pictured above auditioned for and made one of three All-State Honors Choirs. This is one of the highest honors a choral student can earn. These students had to first audition and perform in the All-East Honors Choirs. Then, based upon their October audition and an additional All-State screening test, about 150 students were selected All-State. More than 350 singers from more than 50 schools across East Tennessee were screened, but only a select few received the honor of singing in one of these three choirs - mixed, men’s, and women’s. Students from all over the state will be gathered together in Nashville for this honor. The students will participate in three grueling days of rehearsal (Wednesday through Friday) with a concert Friday, April 15 for the Tennessee Music Educators Association. Front row, left to right, are Claire Brinkman, Jenna Lickliter, and Jill Skovran. Top row, left to right, are Ben Simpson, Michael Wentz, Brian Bland, and Nick Carter.
