FMS teacher cleared in choking claim
- Thu, Apr, 21, 2005
A Farragut Middle School teacher accused of choking a student March 31 has been cleared of wrongdoing, said Richard Dalhaus, FMS principal.
Dr. Johnathan Zayas, an eighth-grade reading teacher hired “on a temporary contract” in October 2004, was recently cleared when [Tennessee Department] of Children’s Services did not find the allegations to be substantiated,” Dalhaus said in reference to “a statement that’s been given to me … through DSC and their report to [Knox County Schools] Human Resources.”
Dalhaus said Zayas has been reassigned to “Knox County Library Services Department.”
