Big win followed by three straight losses for FHS lacrosse

Since an upset victory vs. University School of Nashville 15-9 Wednesday, April 1, it was a tough two week stretch for the Farragut High School lacrosse team, suffering three consecutive losses.

Against USN, the Admirals built a huge margin at halftime en route to victory.

Heading into the third quarter, head coach Chris Kelley had the opportunity to rest some of his starters and get all his players into the game.

A scoring flurry from attackmen Ryan Kizer who scored six goals and Blake Harper with five goals left USN with few defensive answers and the Admirals went on to win in convincing fashion.

The team picked up 71 ground balls and took 31 shots on the USN goal. Senior defenseman Doug Grapski won 15 of 18 faceoffs leading to several fast break goals.

Next, the team faced a tough Montgomery Bell Academy team in Nashville.

The Admirals started off flat and never seemed to recover, falling to MBA 16-7.

Attackman John Hipsher was the Admirals scoring leader, who notched his first career hat trick.

More recently, Farragut hosted Father Ryan and Lausanne/Cordova at Tarleton Park in Knoxville Saturday, April 9. In a close, back-and-forth game with Father Ryan, the Admirals suffered a 13-10 loss.

With just 90 minutes rest until the next game, Farragut battled fatigue and lost to Lausanne/Cordova Lynx.
