Soda tab charity

Farragut Middle School students collected nine gallons of soft drink can tabs as of early May in an effort to raise money for various causes such as Alzheimerís disease research, provide kidney dialysis treatments to needy patients and/or support Ronald McDonald Houses. For example, each gallonís worth of tabs collected turns into enough money to allow a dialysis patient one free hour worth of treatment, said Sandy McRae, FMS secretary and collection sponsor. Pictured with McRae holding bags of tabs are FMS students, front row left to right, seventh-grader Hayley Mills, sixth-grader Mitchell Peek, seventh-grader Nicole Green and sixth-grader Ambery Ivey. Top row, left to right, are sixth-grader Bryce Mills, seventh-grader Erika Collins, sixth-grader Leslie Grimes and sixth-grader Chandler Cox.
