The town of Farragut has jumped into its audit of the town’s development review process with both feet.

With Alderman and Vice Mayor Michael Haynes at the helm of the committee, it is our hope that the committee will take a long, hard objective look at the processes in place governing building and developing in the town, and ultimately make a recommendation to the Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen for improvement, if need be, of which both developers and government can both live.

Based on the caliber of questions posed at the second meeting of the group, the review at face value doesn’t appear to be “smoke and mirrors” with nothing being done at its conclusion.

An interesting tool from the committee is a survey of developers over the last two years. It will be interesting to see how constructive that information will be.

Of course, time will tell.
