Many honorees recognized at FHS basketball banquet April 3


Multiple awards were presented to members of Farragut High School’s varsity, junior varsity and freshmen girls basketball teams during the annual banquet Sunday, April 3, at Calhoun’s on the River in downtown Knoxville. (In addition to Blake Denny, right, boys honorees will appear in next week’s issue).

Senior post Natalie Munday finished as the eighth leading scorer in FHS history with 1,079 points while also earning the team’s Top Free Throw Percentage and Offensive MVP awards.


Senior guard Ashley Tipton was recognized for setting a single-season record for three-point shots made (78) and three-point percentage made (48.5), earning her the Top Three-Point Shooting Award while also earning the Scholar Athlete Award.

Other Lady Admiral honorees: Top rebounder, Kiah Simmons; “Tough as Nails” and Top Assists awards, Beth Raby; “The Intimidator” Award, Rachel Simmons; Coaches Leadership Award, Haley Williams; Sixth-player awards, K.B. Beverly and Zanetta Mason; Defensive MVP, Catelyn Dake, and Lady Admiral Award, Rachel Draper.
