WVMS second, FMS sixth


West Valley Middle School’s boys took Baylor to sudden death before settling for second-place during the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association State Tournament Friday, May 13, at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Jackson. Individually for WVMS, Mike Markiewicz took second after shooting 77, just one stroke from the top. West Valley teammate Spencer Smith finished tied for third at 78. Meanwhile, the Farragut Middle School boys golf team (above) finished sixth in the state after compiling a 12-1 regular season record. Brandon Rodgers and Hayden Anderson joined Markiewicz on the All-state team. FMS team members, front row left to right, are Anderson, Davis Bunn and Rodgers along with David Sherrod, director of the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association.
