Top-ranked nationally in three polls


The Southeastern Road Warriors, a Knox County-based 14-year-old baseball team, recently won the USSSA Super N.I.T. in Huntsville, Ala. With the championship, the team received an automatic bid to the Elite 24 National Tournament at the Disney Complex in Orlando the first week in August. The Elite 24 is considered the most prestigious tournament of the 2005 season. The Road Warriors built a 56-5 record and are currently ranked No. 1 in three national polls including USA Sports Ranking, Travel Ball Select and the USSSA National Power Rankings. Eight of the players are from the Knox County area, including Mac Thoreson of Farragut and Garret Copeland of Bearden.
