The cost of traveling for high school and club team athletes has increased over the years. The TSSAA has decided to locate most high school state championships in Middle Tennessee to ease the financial burden on West and East Tennessee athletes while practically eliminating the cost to Middle Tennessee teams.
Is locating the games in Middle Tennessee fair? Should the games be rotated between Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis? What about traveling club teams? Is the cost to travel, in some cases, from state to state worth the end result? Is too much emphasis being placed on athletics and winning? What is your opinion of the business of youth sports?
