• Farragut High School baseball will hold incoming freshmen tryouts from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1, and Tuesday, Aug. 2, at John Heatherly Field on the FHS campus. Tommy Pharr, FHS varsity head coach, says all incoming freshmen or any FHS student not on the 2005 baseball team wishing to play are invited. Bring cleats. • CBFO Flag Football signups for 5 and-6 year olds is underway. Signups are $65 per child (no deposit required). For more information call CBFO football commissioner Eddie Neely at 865-607-6664.

• Parents of children wishing to play CBFO Football (ages 7 to 14) this fall must hurry and signup, as rosters are filling up fast according to Eddie Neely, CBFO football commissioner and organization president. • Practice for CBFO football season begin July 26 in preparation for the organization’s first bowl games Saturday, Aug. 13, versus Fulton. Regular season action begins the third week in August.

• The annual CBFO Football Camp at Farragut High School is Thursday, July 28 through Saturday, July 30. FHS head coach Eddie Courtney and his staff will conduct the camp. Cost is $80 per camper. For more information call CBFO football commissioner Eddie Neely at 865-607-6664.

• The YMCA is hosting a “Swim A-Cross” to raise money for American Red Cross health and safety programs in the Knoxville area. From 7 p.m. to midnight, Friday, July 22, the North side YMCA on Maynardville Highway in Halls will host swimmers. From 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 23, swimmers will be treated to a day of games and fun at the West side YMCA on Winston Road. Both days are free and open to the public. Any swim team or individual interested in participating or hosting their own Swim-A-Cross should call 865-584-2999.

• Farragut Middle School Baseball Team Tryouts are open to all grades at FMS, and will take place beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1 and Tuesday, Aug. 2, at John Heatherly Field, The Ballpark at Farragut (FHS baseball field). For more information, call Jim Braden 310-7766.

• Farragut High School will be holding tryouts for the fall 2005 season following school at approximately 3:50 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15, in the Lynn E. Sexton Gymnasium. Head coach David Moore said the tryout should last until about 6 p.m., adding that all participants need to do is come dressed out.
