Farragut’s Bates honored

Farragut High School and University of Tennessee graduate Bill Bates (right) pauses with former Farragut High School football/baseball coach Herky Payne prior to Bates’ induction into the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame Thursday night, Aug. 18, at the Knoxville Convention Center. Bates was inducted into the Class of 2005 as its professional athlete. Payne was inducted as a member of the Class of 1998 for football and baseball.
