Rob Catapano, southpaw staff ace for the 2005 Farragut High School baseball team, recently committed to the University of North Carolina, choosing UNC over Tennessee, Ole Miss and East Carolina. The senior left-hander compiled a 9-2 record and 1.16 earned run average last spring in helping FHS return to the Class AAA state tourney.

Season Football tickets are available for the Farragut High School football season. Tickets may be obtained by sending $25 per ticket to Farragut High School Football Booster Club, P.O. Box 22635, Knoxville, TN 37933-0635, postmarked no later than Aug. 19. After Aug. 19, season tickets may be purchased up until the first game Aug. 26 against Central by calling 865-671-3606.

Two new coaches can be found on the sideline at Knoxville Catholic High School. Mark Leader, who has coached soccer for more than 20 years and a KCHS boys assistant for the last six years, is the new Lady Irish head coach. New boys and girls golf coach Colin Moskul played for the University of Tennessee and later served 10 years as a Vol assistant coach.

Queens University of Charlotte, N. C. announces that Demetrius Donald, former Bearden High School All-State soccer midfielder who helped BHS win a national title and two Class AAA state titles, has been recognized by the U. S. Achievement Academy as an All-American Collegiate Scholar. The senior is a standout player with the Queens soccer team.
