Texas Roadhouse supports community
- Thu, Sep, 15, 2005
Texas Roadhouse, 11001 Turkey Drive donated $10,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank with money raised from “run through” lunch and dinners before the new restaurant opened. Second Harvest is a non-profit service organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in the community. Its primary commitment to the 18-county region it serves is to gather and provide food to the 400-plus member agencies that feed the hungry. In addition to donating to Second Harvest, East Tennessee Texas Roadhouse restaurants are selling paper Andy Armadillos to benefit the American Red Cross Emergency Relief Fund, announced Diverse Concepts, LLC, franchise owner of the East Tennessee restaurants. One hundred percent of contributions raised by Andy Armadillo sales will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Currently, Texas Roadhouse has many employees impacted by Hurricane Katrina, said Texas Roadhouse owner Ron Houser (pictured far left.) Also pictured, left to right, in a check presentation to Second Harvest are Girish Desai, Texas Roadhouse managing partner, Jerry Luneke, and Tom von Berg, both from Second Harvest.
