• The annual Farragut Fall 5K Run, Fun Walk and Pet Parade begins at 8 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park on Watt Road. Organized by the Farragut/West Knox Chamber of Commerce and managed by Knoxville Track Club, the 5K course takes what race officials label as a “scenic” route through the Sedgefield Subdivision and ending at the park. The Fun Walk will be held on a separate course at the park. Fee is $15. Day of race registration is $20. Pets must be on a leash.

• Friday, Oct. 7, is the date for the 17th Annual Town of Farragut Golf Tournament, to be held at the Landmark at Avalon Golf Club in Loudon County, two miles west of Farragut off Hwy. 70. A barbeque lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Registration is $65 per player and includes lunch and entry in prize drawings. Bring a foursome or be paired with others. Deadline to register and pay is Friday, Sept. 30. For more information, call 865-966-7057.

• Senior golfers ages 50 to 100 are invited to participate in the Knox County Autumn Years Senior Golf Tournament, beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Three Ridges Golf Course, 6101 Wise Springs Road. Entry fee is $40 and includes greens and cart fees, breakfast, lunch and door prizes. Registration forms are available at Three Ridges Golf Course and the Knox County Parks and Recreation Department or by calling Ola Cole at 865-215-6607. Deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 30.
