Today is the last day for entry into the annual farragutpress Halloween coloring contest. The event has been a tradition here at farragutpress for a number of years.

Schools in the Farragut area have been given special printouts of the entry form so that as many children as possible can have an opportunity to win one of the ever-growing number of prizes to be had.

Last year, several parents came to the office in a panic because they didnít make time to drop off the entry. So donít put it off. Get your childís entry in today. Itís a lot of fun.

Speaking of fun. Next week the University of Tennesseeís Howard Baker Center for Public Policy will host ďVotes and Jokes: Laughter and Americaís Political PersonalityĒ Friday, Oct. 28, on the Knoxville campus. The conference will feature political leaders and some of the nationís leading political columnists, cartoonists and writers, including Art Buchwald, Pulitzer Prize winner and longtime columnist for the Washington Post, who will give the keynote address. The event is free and open to the public. Sessions will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Tennessee Auditorium of Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center.
