FMPC defers Fox Den plat


Asking town leaders to amend a preliminary plat for Fox Den Subdivision (affecting unit 13, lots 174, 175A and 176) and redirect a proposed stormwater pipe in order to create an additional lot, a Knoxville real estate developer’s request was deferred by the Farragut Municipal Planning Commission during its Nov. 17 meeting.

Citing the need to clarify such issues as pipe depth in regards to future repair costs, increased construction costs if the plan is changed and angle of pipe for proper water flow, the FMPC unanimously deferred the request by Wallace McClure Jr. until the next meeting while town officials and McClure’s representatives further evaluate the situation.

Darryl Smith, town engineer, said he was “comfortable with what’s been previously approved,” adding, for example, that there would be fewer problems should the town have to repair the pipe.

In other business:

• Unanimously approved an amendment [aldermen Holly Kelly and Joel Garber absent] to a site plan for U.S. Cellular, 707 Concord Road, zoned C-1, 2.63 acres, to move the HVAC units and a generator.

• Unanimously approved a site plan for a new John Deere Dealership, parcel 49, tax map 7, located on the north side of Kingston Pike at the Knox/Loudon County line, 1.23 acres, zoned C-1, subject to eliminating staff documented recommendations Nos. 5, 11 and 13 and the rewording of No. 6.

• Unanimously approved an amendment to the Farragut Municipal Code, Chapter 4, Sign Ordinance, Section 9-405., (6) and (7), to require the installation and removal of signs to comply with all adopted building and fire codes.
