Annie Broome, state champ in 100-butterfly and a leg on the state record-breaking 200 medley relay while helping leading Bearden to the 2005 state championship, signed National Letter of Intent papers with the University of Maryland Nov. 16.“The thing that makes Annie as dynamic as she is, her personality and her love for her sport and her determination for success,” BHS head coach Evan Nylander said. “One of the reasons our team is successful is Annie’s vibrance helps bring everybody around her to a new level of challenge.”Nylander said. Why Maryland? “I love the coach [Dave Durden], and I love the campus, and I love the program ...,” Broome said.
