FHS freshman boys end 13-6

Unable to defend its Knox County Freshman basketball tournament championship, the FHS freshman boys finished the 2005-06 season with a 13-6 record. The season included wins versus archrival Bearden, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Webb School and Knoxville Catholic.
However, the BHS Bulldogs dethroned the Admirals in the tourney semifinals at Gibbs, 52-48, despite 14 points from Zach Warnock and 13 from Nate Clark.
In 19 games, Sam Watson’s 17.7 points per game average was tops, followed by Clark’s 9.7, Austin Bolen’s 8.7, Warnock’s 8.2 and Jonathan Moore’s 8.2.
Watson and Spencer Hipsher led the team in blocked shots this season, while Bolen and Watson led in rebounds.
Warnock led FHS in three-point baskets with 15, with Moore leading in minutes played, assists and steals. Clark led the team in free throw percentage among starters (78 percent).
Connor Stank led in minutes played coming off the bench, while Dane Lovell led in three-point field goal percentage.
Matt Oglesby, John Jester and Justin Schoonmaker also contributed off the bench.
