Silent Auction for Farragut Intermediate School will be 5 to 8:15 p.m., Friday, March 3. A myriad of items and services will be up for bid.

High school students who want a chance to see how government is really run can pick up an application for summer internships in 40 different county, state and federal offices in Knox County. The deadline, said Linda Bonds, Farragut High School psychologist, is March 4. Bonds seeks to place all students who have a 3.0 average or higher. The 100 junior and senior participants will be divided into a pair of one-week sessions. Students will tour the juvenile center and detention center and have lunch with Knox County Mayor Michael Ragsdale. A $1,000 scholarship is given away to one student each week.
