Fredenberg to Morehead State

Shane Fredenberg, a 6-foot-1, 295-pound senior offensive and defensive lineman standout at Bearden High School, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Morehead State University (Morehead, Ky.) during a signing ceremony Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the BHS “Pit.”

“I liked the campus and all the facilities, and I liked the people and the coaches,” said Fredenberg. “I knew that’s where I wanted to go as soon as I got there.” Fredenberg, 18, said he will likely play somewhere on the MSU offensive line. He earned All-Region 1-5A honors as a senior, and was named the team’s “Mr. Block.” Former BHS head coach Paul Maynard said Fredenberg is “big, physical, strong, and he’s got pretty good feet.” Seated alongside Fredenberg are his parents, Suzie and Tony Fredenberg. Standing, left to right, are his sister, Meagan, a BHS sophomore; Ric Delozier, uncle; Jennifer Prinz, family friend; David Prince, grandfather; Austin Womack, step-brother; Kevin Tyler, NCAA scout; Gordon and Mary Fredenberg, grandparents, and Bridgette Fredenberg, step-mother.
