Jones, Goodson unite in October ceremony
Gretchen Dee Jones and Robert Nolen Goodson III were married Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension with the Rev. C. Alex Barron Jr. and Dr. Steve Sallee officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Thirza A. Jones and the late Mark G. Jones of Knoxville.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mark and Nelle Jones of Knoxville and the late William and Elsie Hallowell of Bremerton, Wash.

The groom is the son of Robert N. Goodson Jr. of Cordova and Carolyn and Clay East of Knoxville.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Goodson of Jackson and Becky Jane Taliaferro and the late Lewis Taliaferro of Brownsville.

The bride’s uncle, Ramon Sanna of Madison, Wis., escorted her down the aisle.

Suzanne Carswell of Knoxville was matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Alison Davis of Dalton, Ga., and Gabrielle Bagley of Thompson’s Station.

Hunter East of Knoxville was best man. Groomsmen were Travis McBay and Brian Fox of Knoxville and Chris Bagley of Thompson’s Station.

Anna Bargman of Boxford, Mass., cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Nathan Bargman of Boxford and Tyler Godfrey of Rowley, Mass., cousins of the bride, were ringbearers.

Dr. Gil Smith of Knoxville was lector.

Jamie Sheumaker of Knoxville kept the guestbook registry.

Vocalists were Brent Ronald and Terri Winkle of Knoxville.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Farragut High School. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in marketing. She is administrative assistant for SportDOG brand at Radio Systems Corporation.

The groom, a 1994 graduate of Farragut High School, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications with a major in broadcasting. He is media director/IT at Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and are residing in Knoxville.


Star, Holloway plan May 27 rites
Jill Angela Star and Travis Edmon Holloway will be married Saturday, May 27, at Grace Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Richard Elseroad will officiate.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bill and Cheri Star of Knoxville.

She is the granddaughter of James and Marlyce Vickio of Wales, Wis., and Donald and Beulah Star of Milwaukee, Wis.

She is a 2000 graduate of Farragut High School and graduated from Auburn University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

She is a graduate student at Central Michigan University pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology.

The prospective groom is the son of Edmon and Maye Holloway of Andrews, N.C.

He is a 2000 graduate of Andrews High School and graduated from The University of Tennessee in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.

He is assistant manager for Taco Bell Corporation.

Maid of honor will be Charissa Star of Knoxville. Bridesmaids will be Angele Lightle of Kansas City, Kan., and Lauren Gasaway of San Antonio, Texas. Junior bridesmaid will be Hannah Ritter of Knoxville.

Best Man will be Marvin Jenkins of Andrews.

Groomsmen will be Jason Holloway of Andrews and Timothy Star of Knoxville.

Junior groomsman will be Trevor Morgan of Knoxville.

Following a honeymoon trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Knoxville.


Hines, Dykes tell wedding plans
Bill and Ginger Hines of Knoxville announce the engagement of their daughter, Dana Michelle (Chelly) Hines, to Adam Morgan Dykes, son of Morgan and Ann Dykes of Centre, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Anthony of Fisherville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John V. Hines of New Albany, Miss. She is the niece of Mrs. Harold W. Buren of Dunwoody, Ga.

She is a 1998 graduate of Farragut High School and a 2002 summa cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in neuroscience and French. She will graduate from the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical School in May and begin pediatric residency at UAB in June.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Dykes Jr. of Ashford, Ala., and the Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Kirkland of Abbeville, Ala. A 1997 graduate of Cherokee County High School, he is a 2002 Auburn University graduate with a civil engineering degree.

The couple plans a May wedding at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, they will reside in Birmingham, Ala.
