County ‘goes to bat’ for youth

“Go to bat for Farragut Baseball” is how Knox County Mayor Michael Ragsdale (second from right) described the county’s support of Farragut youth baseball prior to shaking the hand of Jeff Gary, president of Farragut Baseball, Inc., as Ragsdale and the Knox County Commission donated $12,500 to FB, Inc. In the form of a county development grant, the donation was made official on FB, Inc.’s opening day activities at the Northshore Fields Saturday, April 1. County Commissioners from District 5 on hand, left to right, are Craig Leuthold, John Griess and Mike Hammond. Gary said the grant would mostly be spent on work for the organization’s nine fields, as overseen by Gary, Gene Johnson, executive director and field director for FB, Inc., and Tom Weiler, vice president of field operations for FB, Inc.
