FHS rolls at West
Admiral relay teams win three plus 3200

Grabbing three relay team wins highlighted the Farragut High School track teams’ efforts in the rain-shortened West Knox Relays at West High School Friday, April 8.

Meanwhile, FHS head coach Scott McKenzie praised individual efforts following the recent William Blount Invitational and after a dual meet with Webb.

At West, wins came from the girls 4 X 100 team of Brittany Simmons, Ruth Cook, Catelyn Dake and Jessica Sterling; the 4 X 800 winning girls foursome was Margo Sneed, Caroline Sneed, Sarah Brinson and Alyssa Dresen.

On the boys’ side, the 4 X 800 team won with Frank Streiff, Jacob Gibson, Bryan Mann and Rob Frasier.

Individually, Tom Gilmartin won the 3200 while pole vaulter Jeremy Walker was third.

At William Blount, top performances came from Dake, who won the 400-meter run, and Grant McCartney, who finished third in the discus. He was first against Webb.

Against Webb, freshman Maxwell Lee won the triple jump.

McKenzie said senior Marcus Huie “has done well” in both the long jump and high jump.
