FHS girls tennis is thinking big
FHS girls win 4-AAA, Ad boys take second

Swatting their way past William Blount 9-0 Monday, May 1, the Farragut High School girls tennis team captured the District 4-AAA regular season title with a perfect 7-0 record, 10-3 overall.

Meanwhile, the FHS boys edge the Govs 5-4 Monday to claim second-place in 4-AAA with a final 6-1 record, 8-4 overall.

Head coach Betsy Sparks thinks her girls can earn a TSSAA state tourney bid. “We played [Kingsport] Dobyns-Bennett, who in the past has been a state powerhouse, close (4-3 loss April 24),” she said.

Farragut’s top girls singles players are, in order of rank, Lauren Farlett, Whitney Noble, Sarah Godfrey, Leslie Roberge, Chelsea Delay and Rebecca Anderson.

Among her boys, Sparks has praised No. 1 Andy Noble, who beat highly-regarded Miles Maloy of Dobyns-Bennett in three sets.
