No. 7 FHS blanked 3-0 by hot No. 6 Science Hill


Unable to build enough momentum from its April 22 3-1 home victory against archrival Bearden, the Farragut boys soccer team found a “Hill” too high to climb in the second half, Thursday, April 27, at FHS’s Bill Clabo Field.

Johnson City Science Hill, ranked No. 6 in the state among Class AAA teams (8-1-0 record), scored three unanswered goals in the second half to blank the No. 7- ranked Ads 3-0.

Dropping to 11-3-5 overall, Farragut nevertheless earned the regular season District 4-AAA title with a final 6-0-1 record and will host all district tourney games it plays beginning Monday, May 8.

The Admirals closed out regular season 4-AAA action with a 7-0 blanking of William Blount Tuesday, April 25, at Bill Clabo Field.

Out-shooting the Govs 21-1, Farragut was led by Robert Fisher’s two goals.

Ben Backstrom, Travis Bolton, Tyler Swift, Jake Russell and Jonathon Chancey also scored. Pedi Hashemian led the way in assists with two, while Russell, Backstrom and Matt Dakin had one each.
